bizarre-ity

Its so bizarre.

There you sit, with the gray-white IKEA clock showing 11 pm, staring at the same page of the chapter on Nitrogen and Sulphur (because Pre AS is in two weeks) and the studying has been slowing because of ... And eating Japanese cucumbers with fresh milk (!!!) due to extreme hunger and lack of variety in food. ( And the hunger comes by playing ping pong for a few hours because of ...)

And.. you hear people right down your apartment kawading their legs off, going ' kiri kanan kiri, kiri kanan kiri', and 'satu dua tiga, satu dua empat, satu dua lima' . Well not people, its the blue house! Yeah! =) And another group of kawad people from another house singing ' If you're happy and you know it' in BM. And the yells and cheers and screams from the futsal court that SERIOUSLY rivals any EPL Liverpool-MU match 'cause a game is going on at this hour.

And when you walk downstairs, there are still people in their sporting gear at this hour.

Nothing brings people together like sports.

... is FESKOTT. An annual sporting event, where Blue House always wins. (Nah, just kidding=P)

Being unable to run like Christine, or play volleyball like Lee Chin, or play netball like so many can ( I hate the rules of the game!!! Lol), I joined ping pong singles, doubles, and possibly mixed doubles)- which is an extremely confusing competition trust me.

Oh, and Larian Mesra. Oh oh.

not for weak stomachs

Still humming the ‘In Christ Alone’ song by Newsboys I had just bluetooth-ed to a friend’s phone, I pushed open the front gate, bidding those who came for the usual Friday SLG cell group at my house goodbye, when something gleaming at the bottom of the gate caught my eye.

Something a little slimy, reflecting the orange light of the lamp post just overhead. And wait a minute- it was a little red too. RED. Like, BLOOD RED.

I blinked. Honestly, my first impression was that it looked like a sausage, don’t ask me why, like a really really fat one. But the bio-ness of my mind tod me it was an organ of a body. ( Not human, duhh)

At the mean time someone had yelled out it was a cat’s doing. So it flashed into my mind that a cat had did some scavenging of a giant rat, tearing its insides open, and leaving this particular organ dripping at my gate. Of which now looked like a kidney.

And the worst thing was…It moved!!!

“I see a nose!!!”- my friend yelled out.

It was a fetus. Gosh. A fetus. A cat actually hat a miscarriage at my doorstep. Well, more like gatestep, but still…

It moved! Now I can make out that, indeed it was a fetus, covered in like what should be a placenta..of a cat?

Which led me to think, how on earth did the cat miscarry? Not a particular lover of the feline species, I still wondered how did the fetus came out of the mother cat’s body.

My yet-to-be-educated-in-Biology friend proposed that the cat vomited it out. Hahaha.

I’m still wondering how actually.

How did it come out just like that?

Yasmin, if you’re reading this its pretty freaky, considering what we were discussing yesterday morning. Oh oh. Lol.

Well, my stomach did hold well, and after the body of the fetus was cleared away by my so-courageous-and-superhero-dad, I went in and ate Big Apple.

Somehow I was hungry.

What do you get when you put 12 girls and 3 guys together for a weekend at PD? No, not a girl:guy ratio of 4:1, but really, a chance to get to know each other, to know God better.

it seems natural that we gloss or try to hide our weaknesses, but strife to polish and use our talents or strengths to its full potential. At the camp, I was given a new perspective, that the key to our effectiveness as a servant of Christ lies not in our strengths, but weaknesses. When we recognise our ‘thorns in the flesh’, commit it to God, trust His all-sufficient grace to be provided day by day as we need, that indeed, ‘when we are weak, then we’re strong’.

For me, the highlight of the retreat was the banana boat!

Being blur and all, I always thought that this banana boat thingy is just like peaceful boat ride where you bob through the not-so-rough sea and enjoy the salty sea air and spray of water droplets.

Boy I was wrong! ~~Apparently~~ Actually, the point of it is to get dumped into the water. Which can be fun, and also scary. Haha.

The driver of the boat will go very fast, and turn sharply. Whether you like it or not, you will get thrown into the water, and poof! Water everywhere. It’s pretty cool when you get dumped at a pretty deep place quite far outside, and yet you will float up ‘cause of the life jacket.

Getting back on the boat after being dumped, is the hardest part. Being dumped, though exhiliarating, is also tiring, and to get back up the slippery boat is hard and required a lot of teamwork. Shawn, Keshan and Cheng had to climb on first and help the rest of us up. Lol.

Me thinks banana boat is one of the best team- building game ever!

I guess for me, I was reminded how brothers and sisters in Christ should be there for one another, build each other up, and not tear each other down. Forgive, give grace, encourage, and help.

We celebrated Felicia’s birthday. Hahaha, to surprise her, Li Yan had to crack lame jokes non-stop for about fifteen minutes to buy time. My hat’s off to her.=P
